Every new TheSpeculatorsJournal account starts with a 7-day free trial with full access. A card is required to start the trial. You are not charged during the trial; your selected plan (Basic or Pro) is charged automatically when the 7-day trial ends, unless you cancel before then.
Because you are not charged during the trial itself, there is nothing to refund for the trial period — cancel any time before it ends to avoid being charged.
Here's exactly when you can and cannot get a refund:
If a bug, server error, or issue on our side caused you to lose data, prevented you from accessing the service for an extended period, or resulted in a billing error — contact us within 14 days and we will issue a full refund for the affected billing period.
If you were charged more than once for the same billing period due to a payment processing error, we will refund the duplicate charge immediately upon verification.
If you cancelled your subscription and were still charged after the cancellation date, we will refund that charge in full.
If you subscribed after your trial and feel the service wasn't what you expected, contact us within 7 days of your first charge. We'll review your case and may offer a full refund at our discretion. We ask that you let us know what didn't meet your expectations so we can improve.
When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. We do not issue pro-rated refunds for unused days within a billing cycle.
If your account was suspended or terminated due to a violation of our Terms of Service, you are not eligible for a refund.
Subscriptions renew automatically on your billing date. Renewal of an ongoing subscription does not qualify for a refund on its own. We recommend cancelling at least 24 hours before your renewal date if you no longer wish to use the service.
We will always tell you before we take your first payment. When your trial starts we email you the exact amount, the exact date your card will be charged, and a one-click cancellation link, and we send a second reminder before the trial ends. These are billing notices, so you receive them even if you have unsubscribed from our other emails. If you were charged after a trial and never received that notice, contact us and we will refund you.
Refund requests are handled quickly — usually within 2 business days. Here's how to submit one:
You can cancel your subscription at any time — no phone calls, no retention loops:
Your account stays active until the end of your current billing period. You'll receive a confirmation email immediately after cancellation.
You can also email billing@thespeculatorsjournal.com and we'll cancel it for you within 24 hours.
If you do not recognise a charge or believe you were billed in error, please contact us first. We resolve legitimate billing issues quickly — usually the same day — and we would much rather refund you directly than have you go through your bank. A chargeback reverses the payment for the subscription, so access to that subscription ends when it is filed.
New charges are processed by Whop (merchant of record) and appear on your statement as WHOP, matching the receipt Whop emails you. Older Stripe charges may still show as SPECULATORS JOURNAL. If a charge looks unfamiliar, email us and we will identify it.
If you believe you've been charged in error, please email us first — we'll resolve it faster than a chargeback process.
